Installing Elementary OS Juno on a modern computer requires a bootable USB disk. Thankfully, in 2019, it’s very easy to create a bootable installation disk on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The first step in creating a bootable Juno USB stick is to download the Etcher image burning tool. Head over to their website and download it on your Windows 10 install, a spare Linux PC or spare Mac.

Once the Etcher image burning tool is done downloading, install it, and open it. Then, plug in your USB flash drive into the USB port.

With the app open, find the blue “Select image” button and click it with the mouse to open up the file browser. Then, use the browser window to navigate to the Elementary OS Juno ISO file in “Downloads” to add it to Etcher.

After adding in the Juno ISO file in the Etcher app, click the “Select drive” button and use the menu that appears to choose the USB flash drive on your PC that was plugged in earlier.

When everything is set in Etcher, click the “Flash!” button to burn Elementary OS Juno to your flash drive.

Install Juno

The process of installing Elementary OS Juno starts by rebooting the PC you plan to install on into the BIOS. Then, once you have access to the BIOS, configure it to boot from USB.
